Kristine DaCosta is the heart of Ace Education Centre in Barrie, where she proudly serves as part-owner of this family-run hub for learning. With a wealth of experience, an unmistakable creative spark, and a genuine love of education, Kristine helps shape Ace into more than just a learning centre—it’s a place where students of all ages can thrive.
Her journey in education has been anything but ordinary. Kristine holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction in Theatre from Brock University, trained at Humber’s School of Comedy, and graduated from Second City Toronto’s sketch comedy conservatory. She went on to spend 15 years as a professional actor, ran her own Toronto talent agency for nearly a decade, and has taught Theatre, comedy, improv, and English for over 23+ years. This unique blend of creativity and teaching expertise fuels her ability to connect with students in meaningful, memorable ways.
Kristine’s life is full of stories—like the time she chatted with Rene Zelleweger and Mike Myers or learned comedy from legends such as Joe Flaherty, Jerry Stiller, and Robin Duke. It’s no wonder she brings a dash of humour and imagination to everything she does at Ace.
When she isn’t working with students, Kristine is at home with her husband and their trio of feline companions: Evy, Mario, and Peach. She enjoys painting, crocheting, playing board games, and writing new theatrical works.
Her guiding philosophy? “Every hurdle in life is a gift; without them, we would not grow.” It’s a belief she brings to Ace Education Centre every day—helping students turn challenges into opportunities and learning into lifelong joy.
